My challenge to you: PAUSE
The day is coming to an end...PAUSE...take a moment to celebrate and let the events of the day wash over you as you watch the sun slip beneath the horizon. Remember that tomorrow is a new day.
In the midst of a busy day when you keep telling yourself you “don’t have enough time”....PAUSE...give yourself a moment to take a few deep breaths and say, “I have more than enough time.”. Remember that what you focus on expands.
When you are doing your very best to keep all the balls in the air and you forget someone’s birthday...PAUSE...offer yourself some grace because you know that you would never forget someone you love on purpose. Take a moment to reflect. It is time to slow down....PAUSE MORE OFTEN...trust that you and those you love are resilient.
When you are engaged in an argument that you have had a thousand times...PAUSE...make the choice to listen to understand what you obviously haven’t heard. Remember that we all want and need to feel heard.
If your family holiday is slipping by too quickly....PAUSE...slow down and become fully present to each moment. The act of pausing will create a sense of time expanding.
We are all doing the best that we can.
Celebrate an ordinary moment.
Take a walk.
Watch a Sunset.
Close your eyes
What can you hear?
What do you feel?
What is that smell?
How does it taste?
Life is made up of meaningful moments. Pause. Let life in.
This is both my desire and challenge to you this week.
